Shimla, September 20, 2025:
Deputy Commissioner and Temple Commissioner of Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, has issued directives to ensure special arrangements in major temples of the district during the Navratri festival from September 22 to October 2, 2025.
The arrangements will focus on law and order, sanitation, emergency services, crowd and traffic management, and overall monitoring. Heavy police deployment, CCTV surveillance, alternate entry and exit routes, medical aid posts, and fire tenders will be in place. Local bodies will ensure round-the-clock sanitation, temporary toilets, drinking water, and waste disposal.
Temples covered under the plan include Tara Devi, Jakhu, Sankat Mochan, Haatkoti Mata, and Bhimakali Mata. Public announcement systems and clear parking plans will be implemented to guide devotees. Special care will be taken for women, children, and the elderly, with escalator operations at Jakhu Temple monitored for safety.
Sub-divisional magistrates of Shimla Urban, Shimla Rural, Jubbal, and Rampur have been instructed to personally oversee the arrangements and submit daily reports to the DC.
