Solan Girl to Represent Himachal at National Basketball Championship

Solan, November 21: Devika Sharma, a Class X student of St. Luke’s Senior Secondary School, Solan, has been selected to represent Himachal Pradesh at the National Basketball Championship in Kolkata, scheduled from November 29 to December 5, 2024.

Daughter of Dr. Nandan Sharma, Dean of Legal Studies at Shoolini University, and Dr. Geetanjali Sharma, a doctorate in Vocal Music, Devika has been a basketball enthusiast since childhood. Her exceptional talent has earned her numerous accolades, including the “Best Athlete Award” for four consecutive years. She has also showcased her leadership skills by commanding her NCC platoon during the Republic Day Parade.

Her selection by the District Basketball Association, Solan, is a proud moment for her school as she becomes the only girl from St. Luke’s to achieve this honor this year.

Dr. Geetanjali Sharma, elated by her daughter’s success, remarked, “Devika’s dedication and perseverance have borne fruit. It’s a dream come true for her.” Similarly, Dr. Nandan Sharma praised her passion and determination.
