Shimla’s Gaiety Theatre to Host “Nat Samrat” Play Directed by Bhupendra Sharma

Shimla, March 28, 2024: Renowned theatre personality Bhupendra Sharma, associated with the theatre world for almost 40 years, is set to direct the staging of the play “Nat Samrat” at the Gaiety Theatre on March 30th and 31st. The responsibility of grooming Shimla’s local talent has been entrusted to Sharma by the Gaiety Dramatic Society.

“Nat Samrat,” written by V.V. Shirwadkar, is a well-known play that has been under rehearsal at the Gaiety for the past month. The play revolves around the plight of the elderly, based on the disrespect they face from their children, leading to mental anguish so severe that they are forced to leave their homes.

Bhupendra Sharma highlighted that the Gaiety Dramatic Society is doing commendable work in encouraging artists and promoting the art of theatre. The society is diligently working under the direction of its leaders to prepare for the play. This has created a conducive environment for professional theatre performances at the Gaiety.
