Shimla, 20 January 2025 – Deputy Commissioner of Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, announced the development of a dedicated website for temples in Shimla district during a meeting held today. The initiative aims to provide comprehensive information and services related to the temples for devotees.

The proposed website will include features such as virtual temple tours, online donation options, live aarti streaming, booking facilities for bhandaara slots and accommodations, and more. In the first phase, three prominent temples—Mata Tara Devi Temple, Sankat Mochan Temple, and Jakhoo Temple—will be integrated into the platform. Gradually, other temples in the district will also be added.

Kashyap highlighted that the website will enhance transparency and provide historical, cultural, and logistical details about the temples, including maps, photographs, and aarti schedules.

Officials from the Himachal Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation have been instructed to visit the temples, gather the necessary data, and prepare a draft at the earliest.

The meeting was attended by Sub-Divisional Officer (Urban) Bhanu Gupta, Sub-Divisional Officer (Rural) Kavita Thakur, Assistant Commissioner Gopal Chand Sharma, and other officials.
