Shimla Police Busts Inter-State Drug Gang

Recovers Heroin Worth 30 Lakhs

Shimla, 05 July 2024: Shimla Police have registered a case under sections 21 and 29 of the ND&PS Act after recovering 169 grams of heroin from vehicle PB02CQ-5374 near Chaulanthi. The arrested individuals, Rahul, Anil, Deepak, and Karan, all residents of Amritsar, Punjab, are part of an inter-state drug peddlers’ gang. The seized contraband’s value is estimated between 25 to 30 lakhs.

In the past six months, Shimla Police have arrested 235 drug peddlers. Property worth 2 crores is under investigation to trace drug money links. Shimla Police’s efforts to combat drug abuse include ACTION, EDUCATION, and SOCIAL PARTICIPATION. In the last 15 months, 600 cases have been registered, and approximately one thousand peddlers arrested.
