Orders have been issued to demolish the five-storey building built illegally in Kachchighati of the capital. On Saturday, the Municipal Commissioner’s Court while giving its verdict on the matter passed orders to demolish it. Hearing on 67 cases related to illegal construction was held in the court of Municipal Commissioner Bhupendra Atri. During this, the hearing regarding this building of Kachchighati was also completed.

According to the corporation administration, a person had erected a five-story building in Kachchighati without getting the map passed. The hearing was going on for the last several years. It is mandatory to get the map passed from the Municipal Corporation for construction in the city. Failure to do so is considered illegal and hence the building was also constructed against the rules, and the court has issued orders to demolish it.

On the other hand, near Lakkar Bazar, a building owner had made an additional residence in his building without approval. Orders have been issued to break it as well. At the same time, 150 buildings declared unsafe in the city are also in danger of collapsing during the rainy season. People still live in many of these buildings and are not ready to leave them. People say that the new building will be very expensive, the rent here is less.
