Shimla International Summer Festival to be Held from June 15 to 18 – Anupam Kashyap

Shimla, June 6 – The International Shimla Summer Festival 2024 will be held from June 15 to 18 at the historic Ridge Maidan. This information was shared by Anupam Kashyap, President of the Shimla Summer Festival Committee and Deputy Commissioner of Shimla, while chairing a meeting related to the festival’s organization at the Savings Building today.

Anupam Kashyap announced that under the Chief Minister’s Sukh Ashray Scheme, one day of the festival will be dedicated to the “Children of the State,” where orphaned children will give their performances. Additionally, a Himachali Food Festival will be organized, showcasing a fusion of food from various regions. Each day of the four-day festival will feature cultural performances by school children and famous artists in the evenings. There will also be events for tourists, such as a painting competition, road safety awareness activities, and a natural flower show. A healthy baby competition will be held in three categories: newborn to one year, one to three years, and three to five years.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that the Shimla Summer Festival is a prestigious event eagerly awaited by people from Shimla and other states. He noted that last year’s festival was organized very well, and he is confident that with the cooperation of all departments, this year’s festival will be even better. He gave instructions for proper electricity and water arrangements and urged all officials to start their preparations to organize as many activities as possible. He also directed the District Youth Services and Sports Officer to organize various sports activities during the festival.

A souvenir will be published to commemorate the International Shimla Summer Festival 2024. Assistant Commissioner Gopal Chand Sharma conducted the meeting proceedings and presented the agenda items sequentially. Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi provided suggestions regarding law and order, security measures, and medical arrangements to ensure smooth handling of any adverse situations during the festival.

The meeting was attended by Bhupendra Atri, Commissioner of Shimla Municipal Corporation, Abhishek Verma, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Shimla, Ajit Bhardwaj, Additional District Magistrate (Law & Order), and other officials and employees from various departments.
