Shimla DM Orders 24-Hour Monsoon Relief Monitoring

Shimla, 1 September 2025 – District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap has reviewed the damages caused by heavy monsoon rains in Shimla. He directed all Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) to maintain 24-hour monitoring of affected areas and ensure prompt rescue and relief operations.

As of 1 September, four fatalities were reported due to the rains. Six major roads and 261 link roads remain closed, while 722 DTRs and 278 water supply schemes have been disrupted. The administration is taking measures to restore essential services including electricity, water, and transportation.

The DM instructed officials to prioritize the restoration of apple transport routes, repair disrupted water supply schemes, and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply. Machinery has been pre-deployed in vulnerable areas, and field teams from medical, forest, PWD, and water resources departments are on standby to respond swiftly.

He emphasized employee safety while working in adverse conditions and directed that all relief operations be executed efficiently to minimize inconvenience to the public.
