Shimla DC Calls for Stronger Reporting and Action Against Drug Menace

Shimla, June 30 Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap has directed officials to ensure regular reporting of anti-drug activities across the district, saying effective work must be properly documented. Chairing the district-level NCORD committee meeting, he instructed SDMs to complete the identification of properties linked to drug traffickers within 10 days and stressed greater community participation through village-level meetings. Officials also highlighted the destruction of illegal opium cultivation in Chopal and Rohru using drone surveillance, while awareness campaigns in educational institutions will be intensified to curb drug abuse.
