Shimla Aims for Top Rank in Good Governance Index: DC Anupam Kashyap

Shimla, May 23, 2025: A review meeting on the District Good Governance Index (DGGI) was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap. He directed officials from all departments to work diligently to make Shimla the leading district in all parameters of governance and development.
Key indicators discussed included basic infrastructure, human development, social protection, women and child welfare, law and order, environment, transparency, and economic performance. The DC stressed on immediate data updates and additional efforts where needed, particularly in departments like Health, Education, Jal Shakti, PWD, and Women & Child Development.
He emphasized that Shimla is already performing well in many indicators and urged departments to accelerate efforts to meet targets as per DGGI standards. The meeting also reviewed statistical data based on 128 performance indicators.
Officers from various departments, including ADC Abhishek Verma, ADMs Jyoti Rana and Pankaj Sharma, and representatives from Health, PWD, Police, and Education, were present.
