Shahpur, Sept 21: A one-year diploma training program for agricultural input dealers was launched today at the Appropriate Technology Institute (ATC) Shahpur by MLA and Deputy Chief Whip, Kewal Singh Pathania, under the ATMA initiative. Pathania said the program will benefit farmers and horticulturists by ensuring access to quality fertilizers and crop medicines locally, reducing costs and boosting yields. After completion, trainees will receive licenses from ATMA to sell agri-inputs. He also directed officials to ensure timely soil testing for better crop management. The program has enrolled 40 trainees from five Kangra blocks—Rait, Fatehpur, Nagrota Surian, Nurpur, and Indora—and will be conducted every Sunday over a year.
