Seminar organised on Intellectual Property Day

World Intellectual Property (IPR) Day was marked with a one-day seminar focused on ‘Emerging Trends in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Issues and Challenges’ it was organised by the Faculty of Legal Sciences at Shoolini University in the collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, various activities like quiz and poster making were also organised to mark the World IPR Day seminar.
Prof. Jyoti Rattan from Panjab University was the main speaker of the seminar. Prof. Rattan’s session delved into the complexities of Intellectual Property, particularly its intersection with artificial intelligence and its far-reaching societal impact.
Prof. P K Khosla, Chancellor Shoolini University, inaugurated the seminar, and highlighted the pivotal role of IPR in fostering innovation and protecting the rights of creators. His visionary address set the tone for a day of enriching dialogue.
The event commenced with an introduction to the university’s IPR cell by Assistant Professor Richika, an accomplished IP attorney. Her insights laid the groundwork for a day of intellectual exploration.
A highlight of the seminar was the quiz and poster making competitions, showcasing the talent and enthusiasm of the participants. Seema and Tanya from B.A.LL.B. 2nd year emerged as winners in the quiz competition, while Manshi from B.A.LL.B. 1st year clinched the top spot in the poster making competition.
The seminar concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where Dr. Kusum Verma extended gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organisers for their contributions to the event’s success.
Prof. Nandan Sharma, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences, thanked all the participants for their active involvement and underscored the importance of such initiatives in fostering awareness and understanding of intellectual property rights.
