Secretary Panchayati Raj launches HPSSAU website

The Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, C. Paulrasu, launched the website of the Himachal Pradesh State Social Audit Unit (HPSSAU) here today.
Speaking on the occasion, C. Paulrasu said that the website will serve as an effective platform for disseminating information related to social audits to the general public in a simple and transparent manner. He said that it will help strengthen transparency, accountability, and public participation in governance.
He said that the newly developed website will provide information related to social audit programmes, including audit schedules, audit reports, compliance reports, guidelines, notifications, circulars, publications, achievements, and other important information. This will enable citizens, elected representatives, government officials and other stakeholders to access information about the social audit process with ease.
The Himachal Pradesh State Social Audit Unit is an independent institution, legally mandated by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, to conduct social audits under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and now implemented under VB-G RAM G. In addition, the Unit is also conducting social audits of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), PM Poshan, and various welfare schemes being implemented by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.
Director, Himachal Pradesh State Social Audit Unit, Ravinder Nath Sharma and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
