“Sanjay Awasthi Urges Youth to Make Sports Way of Life at Cricket Tournament Finale”

Sanjay Awasthi, Chief Parliamentary Secretary (PWD, Health & Family Welfare, and Information & Public Relations), emphasized the importance of making sports an integral part of life for youth to achieve excellence in all fields. He made these remarks at the closing ceremony of the Shri Dharampal Thakur Memorial Cricket Tournament held in Kotli, Gram Panchayat Shalaghat, in the Arki constituency. The tournament, held in memory of Late Dharampal Thakur, ran from October 27 to November 13, 2024, with 36 teams participating.

Awasthi highlighted sports’ role in keeping youth away from drugs, promoting healthy competition, and fostering physical and mental growth. He announced the establishment of a cricket academy affiliated with the BCCI and a sports stadium in Darlaghat to encourage youth in sports. Winners Aryan 11 and runners-up Mahakal 11 received trophies and cash prizes. He also announced grants for the event committee and funds for temporary shed construction.
