Shimla, Dec. 27 – Union Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh while addressing the state level function held at Peterhoff hotel here today to mark the completion of three years tenure of the present state government, virtually from New Delhi appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur for the splendid and unprecedented achievements of his government.
He said that PMGSY was a great gift of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and it has proved a boon to the hilly states like Himachal Pradesh. He congratulated the Chief Minister for making Himachal Pradesh the second-best state in the country in the effective implementation of the PMGSY. The Union Minister said that the Atal Tunnel dedicated recently by the Prime Minister to the nation would not only facilitate the people of the Lahaul Spiti district but was also of strategic importance. He also termed Himachal Pradesh as Vir Bhumi as almost every family of the state has a serving soldier or an ex-serviceman. The message of National BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda was also read out on the occasion by General Secretary BJP Trilok Jamwal. Addressing the function at Peterhof, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the three years tenure of the present state government was dedicated towards the welfare of every section of the society and the development of every area of the state. The state government during this period took several initiatives to make Himachal Pradesh the most developed state of the country. He said that the Corona pandemic has forced the government to organize this mega event with utmost simplicity by strictly following the SOPs due to the corona virus.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the state government was providing social security pensions to 5.70 lakh eligible people. The Jan Manch and Chief Minister Sewa Sankalp Helpline-1100 were started by the state government for speedy redressal of the public grievances. He said that the ‘HIMCARE scheme’ was launched to provide health care to the poor under which as many as 1.25 lakh families have been benefitted by spending an amount of Rs. 121 crore. He said that ‘Sahara Yojna’ was launched to provide financial assistance of Rs. 3000 per month to the families with chronically ill patients. The ‘Grihini Suvidha Yojna’ has been launched under which 2.90 lakh free gas connections have been provided to the eligible families and this scheme has made Himachal Pradesh the first ‘Smoke-Free State’ of the country.
The Chief Minister said that MoUs worth Rs. 96,000 crore were signed during the ‘Global Investor Meet’ organized last year at Dharamshala and within a month ground breaking of Rs. 13,500 crore was performed. Out of this, work on projects worth Rs. 10,000 crore has already started. He said that ‘Prakritik Kheti Khushal Kisan Yojna’ has been launched to promote natural farming and as many as one lakh farming families have adopted it so far. Similarly, ‘Mukhiya Mantri Swavlamban Yojna’ has been launched to encourage youth to start their own self-employment ventures and a subsidy of 25 percent on a loan amount of Rs. 40 lakh was being provided to youth to start their self-employment ventures, whereas 30 percent subsidy was being provided to women and girls. Jai Ram Thakur said that the State was celebrating the Golden Jubilee of its statehood in 25thJanuary next year which would be celebrated in a befitting manner. He thanked the people of the State for their wholehearted support to the state government during the last three years.
The Chief Minister thanked Union Raksha Mantri for sanctioning a battalion of NDRF for the state, besides one rank one pension, thereby benefitting lakhs of retired soldiers of the state. He said that Rs. 3300 crore Atal Tunnel Rohtang was indeed the biggest gift of Atal Bihari Vajpayee to the people of the State. He said that AIIMS at Bilaspur and three Medical Colleges were sanctioned to the state during the tenure of the Jagat Prakash Nadda as Union Health Minister.
Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur while addressing the event virtually from New Delhi congratulated the State Government and people of the State for the glorious three years of the State Government. He said that that several schemes have been launched by the State Government to ensure that the left-out beneficiaries of various welfare schemes of the Union Government get benefits of these schemes. He said that India has emerged strong and powerful under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Raksha Mantri. He said that about Rs. 500 crore interest free loan has been provided to the State so as to ensure that the pace of development does not get affected due to paucity of funds. Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur honoured the Union Raksha Mantri by presenting him Himachali cap and shawl.
State BJP In-charge Avinash Rai Khanna said that the BJP government led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured the development and welfare of every section of the society. He said that an additional installment of Rs.18,000 crore was transferred to the accounts of 9 crore farmers of the country under Kisan Samman Nidhi by the Prime Minister on birth anniversary of Bharat Ratan Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 25th of this month. He said that the State has made rapid progress during the last three years. He said that Grihini Suvidha Yojna has ensured free gas connection to the poor and needy thereby making Himachal a first ‘smoke free’ state in the country. He said that almost all the section of the society has been benefitted by the welfare-oriented schemes of the State Government. He also urged the officers of the State Government to work dedicatedly to effectively implement the policies and programmes of the State Government. Former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal also addressed the event virtually and appreciated the new initiatives and achievements of the State Government. He expressed hope that under the able leadership of the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and with benevolence and blessings of the Central leadership, the State Government would ensure that Himachal becomes most developed State of the country.
The message of former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar was also read out on the occasion by Secretary State BJP Kusum Sedrate on the occasion. Co-Incharge of State BJP Sanjay Tondon congratulated the people of the State on the completion of three years tenure of the present State Government. He said that the double engine Governments at the Centre and the State has ensured the rapid development of the State. He said that it was under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that dream of One Nation-One Flag, One Nation-One Grid, One Nation-Aadhar Card, One Nation-One Sim Card. He said that the direct benefit transfer has ensured that the assistance meant for the beneficiaries goes directly into their bank accounts.
Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj welcomed the Raksha Mantri, the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. He also detailed various achievements of the State Government. State BJP President Suresh Kashyap said that the State has made unprecedented development during the present tenure of the State Government. He said that the State has been awarded by Central Government and several independent agencies for its achievements in different sectors. Union Raksha Mantri and Chief Minister also released a coffee table book ‘‘Sushashan Aur Vishwas Ke, Teen Saal Vikas Ke’ on three year’s achievements of the state government brought out by the Information and Public Relations Department. Another booklet on the achievement of the state government was also released on the occasion. A documentary produced by the Information and Public Relations on three years achievements of the state government ‘Sushashan Aur Vishwas Ke, 3 Saal Vikas Ke’ was also screened on the occasion. The august gathering also listened to the ‘Mun Ki Baat’ programme of the Prime Minister which was also shown on the occasion.
