Quality Education is Government’s Responsibility: Sanjay Awasthi

Arki, June 5: Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi said that providing quality education to every student is a key responsibility and priority of the Himachal Pradesh Government. He was addressing the foundation day celebrations of Government Senior Secondary School, Basantpur, in Arki constituency.

During the event, Awasthi laid the foundation stone of a library and auditorium building to be constructed at a cost of approximately ₹5.40 lakh. He emphasized that education is the foundation of a developed society and highlighted various initiatives taken by the state government to improve educational standards and expand access to quality learning.

Referring to the Dr. Y.S. Parmar Vidyarthi Rin Yojana, he said meritorious students from economically weaker sections can avail education loans up to ₹20 lakh at just one percent interest, enabling them to pursue higher education.

The MLA also urged youth to stay away from drugs and contribute towards creating a drug-free society. On the occasion of World Environment Day, he encouraged people to actively participate in environmental conservation and maintain a clean and healthy environment.

Awasthi announced financial assistance for local development works, sports infrastructure, community organisations, women’s groups and youth clubs. He also assured support for road construction, irrigation projects and other pending development works in the area.

The programme featured cultural performances by students, an environmental awareness presentation, and a traditional fair and wrestling competition organized by the school and Gram Sudhar Sabha. School Principal Ram Ratan Banga welcomed the chief guest and presented the annual report.
