Solan, July 21

In a remarkable achievement that brings pride to Indian academia, Prof Atul Khosla, Founder, President, and Vice Chancellor of Shoolini University, has been named among LinkedIn’s Top 200 Global Voices in Education. This prestigious recognition honours thought leaders who are redefining the future of education worldwide through impactful ideas, innovation, and influence.

This recognition coincides with two milestones in Prof Khosla’s journey — 15 years since he moved to Solan to help build Shoolini University and a decade of thought leadership on LinkedIn. Reflecting on the honour, he said, “It’s now been 15 years in this most exciting space when I moved to Solan to help build Shoolini, and 10 years since I started writing on LinkedIn.”

Looking ahead, Prof Khosla shared compelling insights on the evolving Indian higher education landscape. He predicted a future where global universities establish campuses in India, drawing a parallel with India’s ‘Maruti Suzuki moment’ in education — a disruptive phase that will elevate quality and competition. He foresees a reversal of existing trends, where Indian students prefer studying domestically and foreign students increasingly choose Indian universities, enhancing India’s global academic appeal.

He emphasized that private and state universities will soon rival elite institutions like IITs and IIMs, with Indian universities poised to enter the global top 100 rankings. In terms of academic trends, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Biotechnology, and Business programs will eclipse traditional favourites like computer science.

Prof Khosla also noted a gradual shift toward social acceptance of online degrees, particularly among elite learners, while underlining the continued importance of on-campus learning experiences for the broader student base.

His recognition by LinkedIn not only cements his status as a global education influencer but also shines a spotlight on India’s growing intellectual footprint on the world stage.
