PMAY (Urban) Phase 2 Survey Begins in Una: ₹2.50 Lakh Assistance for Home Construction

Una, February 6: The second phase of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) survey has commenced in Una, bringing direct benefits to the newly incorporated municipal corporation areas. Eligible families will receive ₹2.50 lakh for constructing permanent homes under this scheme.

Survey and Application Process
Municipal Commissioner Mahendra Pal Gurjar informed that eligible residents can now conduct their own surveys and apply online via the integrated web portal or Lokmitra centers. Verification by a selection committee will finalize the beneficiaries.

Eligibility Criteria
– Families must not own a permanent house anywhere in India.
– Annual income should be below ₹3 lakh.
– The house must have at least two rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom.

Priority Beneficiaries
– Widows, single women, senior citizens, differently-abled individuals, transgender persons.
– SC/ST, minorities, street vendors, construction workers, and artisans under the PM Vishwakarma scheme.

PMAY Progress in Una
– 601 houses completed in Phase 1, with ₹9.97 crore disbursed.
– 14 newly included panchayats will directly benefit, including Jhaleda, Kotla Kalan, Ramput, and others.

Infrastructure & Smart City Plans
Congress leader Satpal Raizada emphasized maximizing central funding to develop Una into a Smart City, prioritizing sewerage, sanitation, and road infrastructure.
