PM Modi Extended Maximum Support to Himachal in Crisis: Rakesh Jamwal

1 min read

Shimla, Sept 12: BJP Chief Spokesperson Rakesh Jamwal accused the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh of insensitivity and failure in handling the ongoing disaster situation. He said that while people were struggling due to landslides, floods, and infrastructure collapse, the state government remained absent on the ground and confined to statements.

Jamwal praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for personally visiting Himachal, conducting an aerial survey, and announcing a ₹1500 crore special package in addition to the already released ₹5125 crore—making the total ₹6625 crore. He highlighted that under Modi government, Himachal received more than four times the disaster relief funds compared to the previous Congress regimes.

He also alleged that the Congress government failed to utilize the 2023 relief package effectively, spending only ₹300 crore out of the announced ₹4500 crore. Meanwhile, BJP leaders and party workers, along with BJP-ruled states, have been actively providing relief materials and support to affected families.

Jamwal further criticized Congress leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi and Abhishek Manu Singhvi, for ignoring the plight of disaster victims despite their close ties with Himachal. He asserted that the crisis has revealed the difference between BJP’s service-oriented approach and Congress’s indifference.
