Plantation Drive at Nature Park Mohal Highlights Public Role in Environmental Conservation

Kullu, August 12: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kullu, organised a plantation-cum-awareness drive at Nature Park Mohal under the directions of the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Shimla, in collaboration with the Forest Department, District Administration and Education Department.

The campaign was inaugurated by District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Kullu, Prakash Chand Rana.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about environmental protection, afforestation and the importance of plantation while encouraging greater public participation in maintaining ecological balance. Students, NSS cadets, Eco Clubs, self-help groups, Mahila Mandals, Panchayat representatives and other stakeholders actively participated in the campaign.

Saplings were planted at various locations during the drive, and participants pledged to ensure their regular care and protection. Speakers said environmental conservation is not solely the responsibility of government agencies but a collective responsibility of every citizen. They urged people to plant more trees and contribute actively towards protecting natural resources.

The event was attended by CGM Manisha Goyal, DLSA Secretary Vishal Tiwari, Judicial Magistrates First Class Neeraj Singh, Chunaiti Sagroli and Amit Manyal, Chief Conservator of Forests Sandeep Sharma, Divisional Forest Officer Kullu Pankaj Chauhan, Divisional Forest Officer Headquarters Shashi Kiran, Assistant Conservator of Forests Wazir Thakur, Forest Range Officer Umar Singh and other officials and employees.

Members of the Saraj Self-Help Group, Mahila Mandals from Raika, Badah, Jwalapur, Pipdi and Badhal, representatives of Gram Panchayats Balh-1 and Balh-2, members of the VFDS Balh, Education Department representatives, students and NSS cadets also participated enthusiastically in the plantation campaign.
