People Will Avenge Dehra’s Insult by Hoshiyar Singh : CM
2 min readDehra, July 7: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has accused opposition leader Jairam Thakur and the BJP of undermining the power of the people due to their arrogance fueled by money. Sukhu criticized the BJP for challenging government employees to contest elections for the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and then claiming that even God couldn’t save the current government. He highlighted the BJP’s conspiracy to topple the elected government, which involved six rebel Congress MLAs and three independents, but praised the public for rejecting money politics and increasing Congress MLAs from 34 to 38.
CM Sukhu pointed out that for the first time in history, independent MLAs protested and went to court to have their resignations accepted, driven by delayed payments from their deals with the BJP. Now, Hoshiyar Singh and two other independents have received their payments, with Singh having mortgaged the honor of Dehra constituency to the BJP. Sukhu urged Dehra’s voters to reject Singh’s attempts to buy votes with money and instead support Congress candidate Kamlesh Thakur for development.
During his campaign in Khairian, Bongta, Bari, Shivnath, Dhwala, Thakurdwara, Mohl, Rajol, and Dehra, Sukhu accused Hoshiyar Singh of neglecting the region’s development for political gains and prioritizing his resort. He emphasized that even Singh’s home panchayat lacks development and criticized Singh for selling out to the BJP after failing to achieve his demands.
Sukhu promised that the Congress government would serve a full five-year term and resolve Dehra’s issues, claiming that the BJP’s honest workers would not support Hoshiyar Singh, who mistreated them during his tenure. He assured that the Congress would change Dehra’s fate within a year and address key issues like the rehabilitation of Pong Dam evacuees and establishing new offices post-election. He also highlighted the significant steps taken by the Congress government to curb resource exploitation and generate additional revenue, along with various welfare schemes for women, students, and orphans.
