Pathania Lays Foundation Stones for Two Roads in Bhattiyat
Chamba (Chowari), October 9: Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania laid the foundation stones for two road projects in the Bhattiyat constituency on Thursday, with a combined sanctioned cost of ₹1.66 crore.
The projects include the Mata Mansa Devi Temple link road in Dhulara gram panchayat, costing ₹78 lakh, and the Siun Khad link road in Manhuta gram panchayat, costing ₹88 lakh.
Addressing public gatherings at Dungred and Siun, Pathania said strengthening rural road connectivity remained a development priority. He stated that more than 156 km of new roads had been constructed or upgraded in Bhattiyat during the present state government’s tenure, adding that the constituency was among the leading areas in Himachal Pradesh in terms of road density.
Pathania also said **13 road projects worth ₹103 crore were expected to receive approval under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)**. He assured residents that the Godhra–Siun link road would be paved and that the Siun Khad link road would be extended to the Raipur link road.
He said road construction through the Public Works Department was being undertaken in accordance with prescribed quality standards to provide safer, all-weather connectivity to rural communities. He also assured the gram panchayat and Mahila Mandal representatives that their demands would be considered.
Officials from the Public Works Department, police and forest departments, representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions, local public representatives and residents attended the programme.
