Shimla, October 25, 2025 — Taking a step beyond hospital walls, Paras Health Panchkula launched its impactful community outreach programme “Seconds Save Lives: Awareness on Primary First Aid” in Shimla, with the vision of transforming ordinary citizens into first responders.
The initiative underscored a vital truth — that in medical emergencies, helping hands matter as much as hospitals. By equipping citizens with the confidence to act in the crucial “golden minutes,” Paras Health aims to bridge the gap between accident and ambulance.
Dr. Ashish Gupta, Senior Director – Neurosurgery, highlighted that “a calm, informed response can mean the difference between life and death,” encouraging people to take ownership of emergency situations rather than waiting helplessly.
Echoing this, Dr. Chetan Goel, Associate Director – Emergency, said, “Preparedness is empowerment. A community that knows how to react in those first few moments becomes safer and more resilient.”
Dr. Sourav Sarkar, Consultant – Plastic Surgery, noted that preventable complications often arise from panic and misinformation. “Simple knowledge of first aid can protect patients from irreversible harm before they reach professional care,” he added.
The interactive session included live first aid demonstrations, hands-on practice, and discussions on effective coordination with emergency services. Citizens were trained to handle bleeding, fractures, burns, and unconsciousness — turning awareness into actionable skill.
By prioritizing health literacy and self-reliance, Paras Health continues to build a movement where healthcare begins at home, on the streets, and in workplaces — wherever life demands immediate action.
