Only Air Left Untaxed in Himachal, Congress Burdens People with Heavy Levies: Ratan Pal
1 min readSolan: BJP District President Ratan Pal criticized the Congress party, claiming that its leaders, including the District President, are misleading the public with false statements. He stated that the Congress government has imposed a heavy burden on the people solely to benefit its friends in government.
Ratan Pal pointed out that while Congress leaders complain about not receiving funds, their tone changes as soon as they cross the Himachal border into Delhi. He highlighted the introduction of new taxes on mining leases, including a milk cess and electric vehicle (EV) fee, which he believes will only increase the cost of goods. According to the new notification issued by the Congress government, there will be three types of charges on mining activities in Himachal Pradesh: a milk cess of ₹2, an EV fee of ₹5 per ton, and an online application fee of ₹5 per ton.
He lamented that the government has increased taxes on everything except air, leading to continuous inflation. He recalled a previous notification about a ₹25 tax on toilet seats, which was later retracted, criticizing the Congress government’s focus on its interests rather than the public’s needs.
Ratan Pal also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari approved ₹1,244.43 crores for upgrading the existing road from Kalara Bala village to Nauni Chowk into a four-lane road with paved shoulders, urging Congress leaders not to forget this development.
