NCC organization increases the spirit of serving the nation, makes better human beings, says Group Commander Brigadier Rohit Datta

Shimla Himachal Pradesh NCC Group Commander Brigadier Rohit Datta reached St. Edward’s School Shimla on Wednesday to take stock of NCC activities. NCC cadets of St. Edward’s School Shimla presented gaurd of honour to the Group Commander Brigadier Rohit Datta and the Principal of St. Edward’s Father Anil Wilson Sequeira and the teachers greeted Group Commander Brigadier Rohit Datta on his arrival at the school campus with warm welcome.
Interacting with the NCC (National Cadet Corps) cadets of St. Edward’s School, Group Commander Brigadier Rohit Datta said that along with studies, the NCC organization inculcates the spirit of national service among the students, making them better human beings. By joining NCC, students walk on the right path and establish high ideals including social service. “NCC cadets move forward with a resolve to serve the country through hard work, training. National Cadet Corps (NCC) stands for patriotism, discipline, character building, development of personality, devoting life to society and country”, said Group Commander Brigadier Rohit Datta while interacting with NCC cadets and students of St. Edward’s School Shimla.
Group Commander Brigadier Rohit Dattta added more that youth should have strong faith in NCC as it develops the qualities of nation-service, character-building, unity, discipline, self-reliance and society building. Brigadier Rohit Datta also told that NCC cadets have set an excellent example of dedicated service in saving the lives of people during times of crisis and natural calamities. The country and the H.P. State are proud of the achievements of NCC. He thanked the officers and associate NCC Officer Lieutenant Satish Chander Sharma who trained the NCC cadets.
At the outset, associate NCC Officer Lieutenant Satish Chander Sharma apprised Group Commander Brigadier Rohit Datta about the activities of NCC at St. Edward’s School and achievements of the NCC cadets. Lieutenant Satish Chander toldthat the NCC cadets of St Edward’s School have put up a commendable performance with participation in each area of NCC activities.
To commemorate the golden moments of this special visit of the top military officer, Father Anil Wilson Sequeira, Principal of St. Edward’s School, presented a memento, flower-plant and a grand painting of St. Edward’s School building to the Group Commander Brigadier Rohit Datta. PI staff/first training staff of 7 H.P. NCC Shimla, other ranks and teachers of St. Edward’s School were also present during the visit of Group Commander of NCC.
