NCC Himtrek 2026 Begins at JUIT, Bringing Together 510 Girl Cadets from Across India

Waknaghat (Solan), June 7: The All India Girls Expedition (Himtrek) 2026 commenced at Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, bringing together 510 NCC girl cadets from five directorates across the country for a week-long adventure, leadership and national integration programme.

Organised by 1 HP (G) Battalion NCC Solan under Shimla Group, PHHP&C Directorate, the expedition is being held from June 5 to 12 and has attracted participation from NCC directorates of Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh (PHHP&C).

The camp was formally inaugurated by Camp Commandant Col Vivek Bhatara, who welcomed the cadets and highlighted the importance of discipline, teamwork, safety and adventure in shaping future leaders. He encouraged participants to make the most of the unique learning opportunities offered by the expedition.

Following registration and orientation, the cadets embarked on the scenic Dumher Trek, experiencing the natural beauty of Himachal Pradesh while developing endurance, self-confidence and team spirit. The day concluded with sports activities, recreational events and a vibrant cultural evening that fostered interaction and camaraderie among participants from different states.

Supported by a dedicated team of officers, ANOs, GCIs, JCOs and NCOs, Himtrek 2026 aims to nurture leadership, self-reliance, resilience and national unity among young women, while promoting adventure-based learning in the lap of the Himalayas.
