Shimla: BJP media in-charge Karn Nanda recently highlighted the significant achievements and milestones of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing his unique position as the first PM born after India’s independence. Modi, who took office on May 26, 2014, is celebrated for numerous accomplishments during his tenure.

Addressing the US Congress
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has addressed the United States Congress twice, first on June 8, 2016, and again on June 22, 2023. This distinction places him among a select group of global leaders like Nelson Mandela and Yitzhak Rabin, who have similarly addressed the US Congress multiple times. Leaders like Winston Churchill and Benjamin Netanyahu have addressed it three times.

Surpassing Predecessors
In addressing the US Congress twice, Modi has surpassed former Indian leaders such as Rajiv Gandhi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Manmohan Singh, and PV Narasimha Rao, each of whom addressed it only once. Rajiv Gandhi was the first Indian PM to address the US Congress in 1985.

Guinness World Record for Yoga Session
In June 2023, under Modi’s leadership, a yoga session at the United Nations set a Guinness World Record for participation from the most countries. The event on June 21, 2023, saw attendance from UN General Assembly President Csaba Kőrösi, Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Record-Breaking Visit to Ayodhya
On August 5, 2020, PM Modi visited Ayodhya after a 28-year gap, setting several records. He became the first Prime Minister to visit Ram Janmabhoomi and seek blessings at Hanuman Garhi. Modi’s previous visit to Ayodhya was in 1992, when he participated in a rally with Murli Manohar Joshi.

Nanda expressed that it is a great honor for the nation to have Narendra Modi poised to become Prime Minister for the third time. He praised Modi’s leadership for India’s progress and expressed confidence that under his guidance, India will achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. The BJP, Nanda affirmed, is committed to fulfilling this vision with Modi at the helm.
