Monumental Blood Donation Drive at JUIT Sets New Benchmark in Community Service
2 min readOn August 24, 2024, the GCC and Omega Leo Club of Waknaghat, in collaboration with the Lions Valley Club of Solan, organized a groundbreaking Blood Donation Drive at the Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) Auditorium. Supported by the NCC, JYC Health Club, and NSS Club, the event showcased a strong commitment to community service, compassion, and social responsibility.
The drive, coordinated by faculty members of Omega Leo Club, Prof. Hemant Sood and Mr. Chanderpaul Gautam, alongside Mr. Vineet Rai Sood, Chairperson of the Lions Club Solan Valley, brought together medical officials, students, and faculty for a noble cause. The event was inaugurated at 10:00 AM by Vice Chancellor Prof. R K Sharma and other key administrators, who delivered motivating speeches. Mr. Vineet Rai Sood, Co-Chairman Mr. Sumit Dang, and President Mr. Vijay Verma of the Lions Club Solan Valley emphasized the importance of blood donation and collective efforts in achieving success.
A total of 75 units of blood were donated by JUIT faculty, staff, students, and Lions Club members, underscoring the spirit of unity and service. The participation of NCC cadets, led by Lt. Pragya Gupta, and faculty coordinators from JYC and NSS clubs, including Dr. Poonam Sharma, Dr. Ashok Nadda, Dr. Naveen Jaglan, and Dr. Nishant Jain, played a crucial role in the drive’s success.
