Mock Drill organised on Emergency Communication and Response

The Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA) in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh Police Department, Project Deepak of Borders Roads Organization (BRO), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Bhartiya Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Department of Telecommunications (DoT) organized an ‘Emergency Communication Mock Exercise’ today at State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), HP-Secretariat, Shimla.
The event was conducted under the supervision of Sudesh Kumar Mokhta, Director-cum Special Secretary (Revenue-Disaster Management), who took stock of emergency communication and response force of various districts, where mock exercises work conducted.
Rajesh Verma, Superintendent of Police Head Quarters, Shimla shared the three scenarios for the conduction mock exercise. Three scenarios were presented during this drill in district Chamba, Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur.
Mokhta said that such exercise greatly benefits stakeholder departments especially when we are the brink on the winter season, as it provides an opportunity to brainstorm collectively, synergize the use of resources and explore possibilities for further collaboration and joint planning with various stakeholder agencies.
