Shimla, Feb 15: MLAs Chandershekhar and Bhuvneshwar Gaur have accused Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur of failing to advocate for Himachal Pradesh’s rights in his meetings with Union Ministers. They alleged that instead of securing benefits, he is working to block state funds and resources.
The MLAs also criticized Thakur for lobbying for the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) despite the state government reinstating the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). They accused him of not pressing the Centre to return Rs. 9,000 crore stuck under the New Pension Scheme (NPS).
They further blamed the Centre for imposing financial restrictions on Himachal, reducing borrowing limits and capping externally aided projects. Additionally, they slammed the central government for not releasing the Rs. 10,000 crore relief package recommended after the 2023 disaster.
