The much-awaited Maya Bazaar (June 4 -5); a first-of-its-kind series of magical (traveling) marketplaces organized in various towns in India finally made its debut here today at Peterhoff. The event was inaugurated by Dhananjay Chauhan, founder of “Saksham” Trust and an LGBTQ human rights activist.
The exquisite market has its kind experience to offer where each participant shows that talent is not discriminatory and one can outshine any person despite their personal sexual preferences or gender.
Various stalls ranging from Jewelry, Artwork, handmade notebooks, and hand-printed scarfs to name some have a great deal to offer as they are worth being admired and possessed. Some of the stall owners are House of KC – a fashion brand from Ahmedabad; Rangili – a jewelry brand from Kolkata; The Colour Maniac – an Artist from Bangalore; The Rainbow Corridow x Queerगढ़ – bringing accessories from Chattisgarh among many others.
A cultural performance by The Punjabi Artists woe the audiences and created a different level of vibe that forced everyone to shake a leg.
Lot many locals were seen who came to support the community and shared a progressive view. Youth seems to be more in sync and receptive to the philosophy of “live and let live”.
Chauhan says, “In the end, all we need is acceptance as we are. If possible do not force us to be who we are not we are your children and rather than trying to impress society stand for your child. ”
