Nahan, September 7: The Himachal Pradesh Government is providing financial assistance to registered workers and their families through various welfare schemes implemented by the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

Under the Marriage Assistance Scheme, eligible workers are provided Rs 51,000 for their own marriage or the marriage of up to two children. The scheme aims to reduce the financial burden on workers’ families during marriage ceremonies.

In Sirmaur district, 103 eligible workers have benefited from the scheme so far during 2026-27, with Rs 52.53 lakh spent on the assistance.

Beneficiaries Babu Ram of Banethi gram panchayat and Tika Ram Sharma of Nehli Dhida, Nahan, said the Rs 51,000 assistance received for their daughters’ marriages helped meet wedding expenses and reduced their financial burden. They thanked the state government and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for the support.

The beneficiaries said welfare schemes for workers were providing much-needed financial security to families during difficult times.
