Manimahesh Yatra Suspended Till August 25 Due to Heavy Rain

Pilgrims’ safety remains top priority; yatra likely to resume from August 26

Chamba, August 23: The district administration has temporarily suspended the Shri Manimahesh Yatra till August 25 in view of heavy rainfall and damage to the pilgrimage route.

Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal said repair work is underway on the route near Tos Ke Goth, which was damaged due to heavy rain. Keeping the safety and convenience of pilgrims in mind, the administration has decided to suspend the yatra for the next three days.

Repswal urged pilgrims to avoid travelling on the pilgrimage route during the suspension period and strictly follow the safety advisories issued by the administration.

He said the yatra is expected to resume from August 26, subject to favourable weather and safe route conditions.

The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned departments to continuously monitor the condition of the pilgrimage routes and ensure all necessary safety arrangements. He appealed to devotees to cooperate with the administration and give priority to their safety.
