Loreto Teachers Trained in AI-Based Learning and Digital Skills

A District-Level Deliberations Workshop on Computational Thinking (CT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) was organised at Teresa Ball Hall, Loreto Convent School, on May 16 to promote awareness and understanding of modern technological skills among teachers.
The workshop aimed to encourage innovative teaching practices and strengthen problem-solving abilities through Computational Thinking and AI-based learning. Educators from various schools across the district participated enthusiastically in the programme.
The resource persons for the workshop included Ms. Parul Jhingta, BCA faculty member at Rajiv Gandhi Government College, Kotshera; Dr. Priyanka, Assistant Professor of Computer Applications at GDC Sanjauli; and Ms. Nivedita Bhardwaj, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at St. Bede’s College, Shimla.
During the sessions, the speakers highlighted the growing importance of Computational Thinking and Artificial Intelligence in present-day education. They also demonstrated several digital tools and classroom activities that can be effectively integrated into teaching-learning practices.
The workshop featured interactive sessions, group discussions and hands-on activities, making the programme informative and engaging for participants. Teachers also deliberated on the role of AI in shaping the future of education and stressed the importance of equipping students with digital and analytical skills.
Teachers from Loreto Convent School, along with participants from Saraswati Paradise International Public School Sanjauli, Trinity International School Fagu, Central School for Tibetans Chotta Shimla, Chandernahan Meadows and CST Shimla, attended the workshop.
The event concluded with a feedback session, where participants appreciated the initiative and expressed their willingness to implement the newly learned strategies in their classrooms.
Three presenters were adjudged winners during the workshop. Ina Sharma secured the first position, followed by Sunita Sharma in second place and Anupama Sankhayn in third place.
The Principal congratulated the winners and felicitated the resource persons for their valuable contribution to the workshop.
