Legal Literacy Camp Organised in Mehla to Raise Awareness on Free Legal Aid and Motor Vehicle Laws

Chamba, February 28: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Chamba, organised a legal literacy camp at the Panchayat Samiti Hall in Gram Panchayat Mehla to spread awareness about legal rights and free legal aid services. The session focused on educating citizens about provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, including vehicle registration, driving licenses, traffic regulations, and road safety norms. Officials stressed compliance with safety measures such as wearing helmets, using seat belts, and carrying valid documents. Advocate T.C. Sharma informed participants that free legal assistance is available to economically weaker sections, women, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and members of Scheduled Castes. The camp also highlighted various welfare schemes offered by different departments.
