Hamirpur, July 29, 2025:
Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Hamirpur, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, termed the inauguration of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sandhol in the Dharampur constituency as another valuable gift from the Modi Government to the state of Himachal Pradesh. He congratulated the students and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for their continued support.
Calling it a milestone for quality education, Thakur said, “The foundation stone of the permanent building of KV Sandhol was laid by me along with Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on June 20, 2022. A budget of ₹26.44 crore was sanctioned for the construction of its A-type structure. The school has been consistently delivering commendable results in Classes 10 and 12, proving the transformative power of good education.”
He added, “This development is a testament to the Modi Government’s commitment to strengthening the education infrastructure in Himachal. Just last year, PM Modi inaugurated buildings for KV Nadaun and KV Saloh, built at a cost of ₹38 crore. Nadaun, which began in 1996, finally got its own building under Modi Ji’s leadership after 28 years.”
Thakur emphasized that six Kendriya Vidyalayas—at Naletí, Ghumarwin, Bangana, Dharampur, Saloh, and Sandhol—now serve the Hamirpur region. He also highlighted projects like NIT Hamirpur, IIIT Saloh, AIIMS Bilaspur, and Hamirpur Medical College, which were made possible under the BJP-led government. “We are also building a Central University at Dehra with an outlay of ₹500 crore. Our children can now dream of world-class education within their home state,” he concluded.
