KV Kotkhai Admissions to Begin April 8; Classes to Start in May

Shimla, April 7: The admission process for Kendriya Vidyalaya Kotkhai for the academic session 2026–27 will commence from April 8 and continue till April 20, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap announced.
The admissions will be conducted offline at Kanya Chhatra Vidyalaya, Kotkhai, with registration open daily from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Parents have been advised to carry all necessary documents, including birth certificate, Aadhaar card, and residence proof, to avoid any inconvenience.
DC Kashyap informed that classes will begin in the first week of May, and initially, the school will operate from Class 1 to Class 5. For admission to Class 1, the minimum age of the child should be 6 years.
Earlier, newly appointed Principal Dr. Shivani formally reported her joining to the Deputy Commissioner. He added that the remaining admission formalities will be completed within 10 days after the registration process concludes.
Highlighting the importance of the institution, Kashyap said that the opening of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Kotkhai will provide quality education to students locally, reducing the need to travel to distant areas. He noted that this initiative will significantly benefit both students and parents.
Three Primary Teachers (PRTs) have already been appointed, along with the Principal, and the remaining staff will be in place before classes begin. He also mentioned that Bal Vatika classes will not be introduced immediately and will be considered in the future.
