‘Vishranti’ old age home, with all amenities, coming up at Palampur: Shanta Kumar

Palampur Apr 11 – President of Swami Vivekananda Trust and former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and former Union Minister Shanta Kumar said on Tuesday that the number of old people in India is rising, though prosperity has come but the pain of shattered families is taking its toll.
He said children go abroad for livelihood and veterans suffer the pain of being alone and ignored. He said those who saw happiness in their family life are getting upset and are alone at the fag end of their lives and that’s why there is a great need to ensure that the elderly lead a happy life.
Shanta Kumar told that to fulfill this need, Vivekananda Trust, Palampur has constructed a house named ‘Vishranti’ for the residence of 100 senior citizens. Shanta Kumar said in they would find company of others, it would have all kinds of facilities, entertainment, library, yoga, meditation etc. Along with them, a temple has also been established in Vishranthi, Shanta Kumar said.
Shanta Kumar said in the lap of snow-capped Dhauladhar, Palampur is a very beautiful pollution-free healthy city, on one side there is a famous center of Yoga and Naturopathy, Kayakalp, along with the super specialty Vivekananda Hospital and between these two the Senior Citizens Sadan Vishranti. He said not only in Palampur, it will be the first model center of its kind across India, in which senior citizens will get all types of health facilities 24 hours a day.
He said the construction of Vishranthi is in the final stage and it will start very soon. All the interested dignitaries are requested to visit Vishranthi’s website www.vishrantipalampur.com and register themself as soon as possible and give the trust a chance to serve them, Shanta Kumar said.
