Shimla, July 23: BJP National President and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to discuss the development and disaster recovery efforts in Himachal Pradesh. Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Mahajan was also present during the meeting. Nadda stated that Gadkari assured full support from the central government, with damaged roads being repaired on a war footing.

He emphasized that the use of modern technology, including tunnels and bridges, as outlined by Gadkari, will significantly benefit the state and boost development in rural areas. Under MGNREGA, the Centre has already approved ₹201 crore for material costs in the first phase, which will accelerate grassroots-level projects.

Nadda added that over ₹5,000 crore has already been granted to Himachal through NDRF and SDRF. Recalling the 2023 calamity in Mandi and Kullu, he mentioned that ₹3,146 crore was then released, while an additional ₹2,006 crore has been recently sanctioned under NDRF, bringing the total to ₹5,152 crore.

He further highlighted that over 1 lakh houses have been provided under PM Awas Yojana and roads worth ₹3,000 crore under PMGSY. Nadda assured the people of Himachal that the central government, under PM Modi’s leadership, will always stand firmly with the state.
