Jal Shakti Vibhag promotes 40 Junior Engineers to the post of Assistant Engineers (Civil)

Forty Junior Engineers of Jal Shakti Vibhag has been promoted to the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil). Principal Secretary of the department Dr. Abhishek Jain said that the Departmental Promotion Committee in its meeting held on 8th July 2026, recommended the promotion of eligible Junior Engineers against the approved vacancies of Assistant Engineer (Civil).
Of the total promotions, 22 Junior Engineers belong to the diploma-holder category, while 18 are from the graduate/AMIE category. The category-wise distribution of the promoted officers includes 21 from the General category, 6 from the Other Backward Classes, 9 from the Scheduled Castes and 4 from the Scheduled Tribes.
Apart from this, 12 Junior Engineers have been promoted to the post of SDO against posts likely to be vacant in near future.
He said that these promotions will significantly enhance the department’s administrative and technical efficiency. They will also ensure the availability of experienced officers in key technical positions, thereby facilitating the effective implementation of various projects and development works and further strengthening the department’s functioning.
He added that the Jal Shakti Vibhag is responsible for the development, operation and maintenance of drinking water supply, irrigation and water resources across the state. The department plays a vital role in providing quality and uninterrupted services to the people. The promotion shall be subject to final outcome of the various civil writ petitions pending in the High Court.
He further said that through these promotions, the department will strengthen its institutional capacity and reinforce its commitment to providing better, more efficient and timely services to the people of the state.
