Jairam Thakur Slams Closure of Cardiology Services at Tanda Medical College

1 min read

Mandi, June 9: Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has criticized the state government over the reported suspension of services in the Cardiology Department at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, alleging that patients are being deprived of essential healthcare facilities.

Thakur claimed that the transfer and absence of key specialists have left the department non-functional, forcing heart patients to seek treatment elsewhere. He alleged that the government’s policies are weakening public healthcare services and compelling people to depend on costly private hospitals.

The BJP leader also targeted the state government over changes in the Himcare health scheme, alleging that recent decisions have reduced benefits available to patients. He urged the government to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and ensure uninterrupted medical services in government institutions.

Separately, Jairam Thakur congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving Prime Minister in continuous tenure and expressed confidence that the country would continue to progress under his leadership. He also met newly elected panchayat representatives from the Seraj constituency and extended his best wishes for their public service responsibilities.
