Jairam Thakur Criticizes Government Over Unfulfilled Startup Promises

Shimla: Opposition leader Jairam Thakur has criticized the Sukhu government for failing to deliver on its startup promises. In a press statement issued from Shimla, Thakur questioned the effectiveness of the government’s startup scheme, which was supposed to benefit young entrepreneurs in the state.

Thakur pointed out that despite the Congress party’s promise during elections to allocate ₹680 crore for startups across various constituencies, no funds have been disbursed even after 18 months in power. He also highlighted the discontinuation of the existing Swavalamban scheme, which had previously facilitated the establishment of 4,377 units and provided employment to 11,674 people with an investment of ₹721 crore.

Thakur demanded that the government expedite the release of pending competitive exam results and fulfill their employment promises to the youth. He accused the government of ignoring the future of the young generation and urged for immediate action on the startup fund allocation.
