2 min read

Dehra: Opposition leader Jairam Thakur addressed an election rally in Dehra in support of BJP candidate Hoshiar Singh. He sharply criticized the government’s protection of corruption and mafia activities. He questioned why the Chief Minister remains silent on issues of corruption. People want to know how these scams are happening under his watch. Who is being protected—corrupt officials, criminals, or mafia? Why isn’t the police taking effective action against them? The government should work for the welfare of the people, not for personal gains of friends and family.

Jairam Thakur stated that the people of the state have rejected the corrupt government and its leaders. During the Lok Sabha elections, the public defeated the Chief Minister and 10 ministers in their own constituencies, showing that there is no place for corruption in the state. In these assembly elections, the government’s autocracy will be answered, and all three BJP candidates will emerge victorious with overwhelming support. Hoshiar Singh represents the face of Dehra and will continue to do so. The people of Dehra have elected Hoshiar Singh to the Assembly twice without any party’s support, proving they are not afraid of the Chief Minister’s autocracy. BJP’s victory on these three seats will strengthen the party’s numbers in the Assembly and curb the government’s autocratic tendencies.

Jairam Thakur also raised questions about the biggest mining mafia in Hamirpur and Kangra and its connection to the Chief Minister. He demanded answers on why the mining policy was changed within two months of the government coming to power in December 2022. Who benefited from this policy change? The people of the state want to know. During the crisis in the state, which crusher was running in Naadoun and who was protecting it? The government must clarify these issues to the people of the state. He criticized the government for burdening the state with debt in one and a half years, benefiting friends, and indulging in scams instead of development. On this occasion, local officials, activists, and a large number of local people were present with MLA Vipin Singh Parmar, Pawan Kajal, and Rakesh Jamwal.
