Jai Ram Thakur Slams Govt Over Financial Mismanagement and Election Irregularities

1 min read

Shimla, March 13, 2025:*Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur has accused the Himachal Pradesh government of financial mismanagement and electoral irregularities. He alleged that during the Dehra by-election, women’s self-help groups received ₹50,000 each from Kangra Cooperative Bank without any formal application. Thakur demanded an impartial investigation, questioning why such financial aid was selectively distributed in a single constituency.

He further criticized the state government for failing to manage finances, pointing out that despite the supplementary budget constituting 30% of the total budget, people are not receiving their due payments. He highlighted issues like pending bills, halted treasury disbursements, unpaid salaries of outsourced employees, and delays in government welfare scheme payments, including the **HIMCARE** scheme. He stated that the government’s financial estimates have completely failed, creating widespread public distress and economic instability.
