Verma said that a District Quality Assurance Committee has been formed to monitor the availability of high-quality health facilities for patients in all health institutions by the Health Department. This committee continuously monitors the quality of health services in the district’s health institutions and periodically submits its reports.
The Additional District Magistrate was chairing a meeting of the District Quality Assurance Committee formed to monitor the availability of quality health services in health institutions and hospitals in Nahan today, Wednesday.
On this occasion, L.R. Verma also reviewed the quality of health services being provided in all health institutions operated by the Health Department in Sirmaur district.
The Additional District Magistrate said that ensuring better and quality medical facilities in rural and urban areas for all citizens is the primary objective of the committee. Along with this, the committee also keeps an eye on health facilities in hospitals, including OPD, bio-medical waste disposal, laboratories, various wards, etc., as well as other facilities available in hospitals.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ajay Pathak said that the District Quality Assurance Committee has been formed with the aim of improving arrangements in district hospitals under the Quality Assurance Plan of the Health Department and providing more facilities to patients. He said that this committee ensures inspection of the quality of health services provided to patients in hospitals within the stipulated timeframe.
He said that hospitals are also scored during inspections, based on which health institutions are provided with financial incentives and certificates as incentives. During inspections, special attention is paid to cleanliness, waste management, infection control, pest control, and structural facilities in hospitals.
