International Webinar on Photodetectors  and Sensors  organised at Shoolini Univ

School of Physics and Materials Science of Shoolini University, organised an International Webinar on Photodetectors and sensors under the Shoolini Science Web Series. The key speaker of the webinar was Prof. Jean-Michel Nunzi, Professor of Physics, Queen’s University, Canada.

Prof Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Dean Sciences welcomed the guest speaker and thanked him for accepting the proposal to speak on “Perovskite and graphene-based plasmonic photodetectors and sensors”. This was the 10th Lecture of the series and was the fourth one by the international speaker.

Shoolini University Chancellor Prof PK Khosla congratulated Prof Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Dr Dinesh Pathak and the entire team for organising such interactions of global importance and thanked Prof. Jean-Michel Nunzi, Professor of Physics, Queen’s University, Canada for sparing his time to be the speaker for the day. He said that research is the backbone of any university, institute, and country and Shoolini University has made high strides in quality research.

Prof. Jean-Michel Nunzi delivered his lecture on the basics of Perovskite and graphene-based plasmonic photodetectors and sensors with some examples of actual applications. It was a wonderful interaction with a lot of questions from the students, which the speaker handled very effectively. The entire faculty members, research scholars , and students of the School of Physics and Materials Sciences, Shoolini University, Solan attended the webinar.

Professor Atul Khosla, Vice Chancellor Shoolini University provided the concluding remarks and congratulated the School of Physics and Materials Science for organising such a wonderful event by sharing the utility of nano world. He further shared that such kind of international events with worthy speakers from across the globe is only possible due to COVID-19 generated circumstances. We are more to “Basudev Kutumbak” now.
