Staff and students of Shoolini University celebrated international literacy day by organising events for the children of non-educational staff members.

Chancellor Prof. PK Khosla was the chief guest at the events organised by the club “Shoolinians For You” under the mentorship of Poonam Nanda, Dean Students Welfare.

The event consisted of three different types of competitions involving speech, art and craft and talent competition.

Col. TPS Gill, Director, Yogananda Knowledge Centre, and Mr. Krishna Aayush, Teaching Assistant were the judges for the competition.

Prof. Khosla, while addressing the event said that “Literacy is the basic human right and we all should aim for higher education and contribute to nation and world development. One can only differentiate between right and wrong if one knows the two side, and literacy gives us the ability to understand the different parameters of the story”.

Shoolini University had started “Parivartan” initiative to mentor children of non-educational Shoolini staffs and surrounding villages in which students and faculty member of Shoolini University volunteer and guide the children for imparting knowledge. Due to the pandemic, this initiative was stopped but now that everything is slowly getting back to normal, the students have urged the university to restart the good work.
