Shimla, May 5:
Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur accused the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government of deep internal conflicts that are now publicly evident. Thakur stated that recent infighting among ministers, public spats, and accusations—some even from the Deputy CM against the CM—have paralyzed governance in Himachal Pradesh.
Referring to recent events in Bilaspur and comments made by Congress leaders on social media, Thakur claimed that the government’s energy is focused on personal power struggles rather than development. He criticized ministers for skipping office and engaging in blame games, calling it unprecedented in Himachal’s political history.
He alleged that state welfare schemes like Himcare are suffering, job recruitments are halted, and public healthcare is collapsing. With the state debt surpassing ₹1 lakh crore, Thakur warned that the only visible activity of the government is borrowing more money each month.
