HPTDC Issues New Guidelines for Booking Private Banquet Functions Following Court Orders
1 min readShimla, 14th November 2024: The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has issued directives to all its units regarding booking private banquet functions, such as weddings and parties. This move comes in compliance with a recent order passed by the Hon’ble High Court of Himachal Pradesh in CWP No. 9681 of 2023 & CMP No. 20472 of 2024 in the case titled Jai Krishan Mehta vs. HPTDC.
As per the new guidelines, guests organizing private functions must provide written confirmation detailing the date, menu specifics, and a minimum guaranteed number of attendees. Bookings will only be confirmed upon receipt of a 60% advance payment at the time of booking and an additional 20% seven days prior to the event, along with requisite licenses and permissions from local authorities.
HPTDC has directed strict compliance to ensure timely bill settlements within a week of each function, with unit in-charges and DDOs personally liable for any lapses. The Corporation also emphasized strict adherence to its reservation policy for room bookings and recovery of pending dues.
