HPTDC Directs All Units to Launch Tree Plantation Drive Ahead of Monsoon

Shimla, June 22: The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has directed all Divisional Offices, Hotels, and Unit Incharges to undertake a special tree plantation drive in their respective premises ahead of the monsoon season.
In a communication issued by Managing Director Rajiv Kumar, HPTDC emphasized the vital role of trees in combating global warming, improving air quality, supporting biodiversity, preventing soil erosion, and mitigating the impacts of climate change.
As per the instructions, each HPTDC unit has been asked to plant a minimum of five saplings. Units with limited space have been advised to compensate by undertaking additional plantation activities at locations where adequate land is available.
The corporation has also instructed all units to share photographs of plantation activities before and after planting through HPTDC’s official WhatsApp number. Additionally, photographs of tree plantation carried out during the previous year’s campaign have been sought through the e-office platform.
The initiative is aimed at increasing green cover across HPTDC properties and promoting environmental sustainability through active participation in conservation efforts.
